“Bought a pile of TZR bits... and never looked back.”

It started with a schoolboy scrambler dream and ended up with a garage full of Yamaha's finest two-stroke engineering. The obsession isn't just about the speed; it's about the mechanical symphony of keeping a classic TZR250 at peak performance.

From those first tentative laps to winning paddock awards, the journey has been defined by the community. Every breakdown is a shared challenge, every podium a shared victory.

Special Recognition

The Danny Whalin Trophy

“First year racing... not for speed — for community.”

Named in memory of Danny Whalin, a rider who sadly lost his life at Paddock Hill Bend, Brands Hatch, on 8th March 2003. The trophy is awarded each year to the rider who best represents the spirit of the YPM paddock community. Mark won it in 2018 — his very first year of racing.

The Journey

Racing
History

2018—2020

Foundation Years

The journey began with raw passion and limited resources. The early years were defined by steep learning curves and the grit of privateer racing. Every lap was a lesson in mechanical sympathy. By the end of his very first season, Mark was awarded the Danny Whalin Trophy — an honour he never saw coming.

2021—2023

TZR Development

Transitioned into the technical mastery of TZR builds. Stripping bikes to the frame, optimizing power delivery, and mastering the nuances of two-stroke engineering.

2024—2026

Clubman Tier

Entering the Yamaha Past Masters (YPM) Clubman class. A higher level of competition and more technical circuits. Refined the #67 livery and established a presence as a consistent contender.

The Paddock

THE PADDOCK FAMILY

Racing is a team sport, even for club racers.

“The paddock is what keeps me coming back. Not the trophies — the people. When someone's in trouble, you pick up a spanner and you help. That's what this community is.”

Harry Fowle's R6 — Back on the Grid

Harry Fowle came off his Yamaha R6 down Craner Curve — the damage was extensive and Harry was ready to pack up and go home. A group of us worked into the early hours rebuilding the bike. The next morning Harry was back on the grid.

AJ's TZR — Two Hours, No Problem

AJ came off his TZR250 at Mansfield corner with two hours to the next race. Tools out, heads down. AJ made the race — and broke the lap record. That's what we do.
